JOSEPH BOYE CLOTTEY

Meet Our Board

Mr. Joseph B. Clottey is a Financial and Management Consultant who has over 36 years’ experience in the banking industry retiring as the Head of Banking Supervision Department of Bank of Ghana. He graduated from the University of Ghana Business School in 1969 with a Degree in BSc. Administration (Accounting option) and joined the Bank of Ghana. He was involved in the formation of the Committee of Banking Supervisors of West and Central Africa and served as the chairman of the group for one year. He was also elected the chairman of WAMI committee of Banking Supervisors in 2003. He served on the Board of uniBank Ghana Limited, Anglican Development Company and Oak House Group. In the past Mr. Clottey has been a member of the Audit Committee of Barclays bank Ghana in 2004/2005. He brings to Progress the rich experience from the banking industry especially in Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management.

BERNARD OWUSU-TWUMASI, ESQ

Mr. Bernard Owusu-Twumasi is the Managing Partner of the Law Firm of Oak &Wuuds, one of the leading Commercial Law Firms in Accra, Ghana. He is a member of the Ghana Bar Association, International Bar Association, and the Inter Pacific Bar Association. He is also a member of the International Private Investigation Association. Bernard is a graduate of the University of Cape Coast, University of Ghana (LL.B Hons. 2005) and the Ghana School of Law (Qualifying Certificate in Professional Law 2007). Bernard was admitted to practice in Ghana as Barrister-at-Law and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Ghana in 2007 and holds an Executive MBA from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA). He is also an alumnus of Harvard Law School Executive Education (2012) in the United States of America. Bernard has done extensive work in the area of corporate banking and finance as well as in the Real Estate Industry and in areas of debt recovery and property search and investigations. Bernardi is an entrepreneur and a businessman and brings to Progress, a wide knowledge in corporate law.

DR. ING. KENNETH ASHIGBEY, (FIOD, PMP, CERT IOD, MPM, FGIM, FCS)

Dr. Ing. Kenneth Ashigbey is a Corporate Governance professional, a fellow of IoD Ghana and member of IoD UK, with over 13-year experience serving on various boards. He is a certified Project Management Professional and Engineer with over sixteen years of professional experience. He brings to the table lots of exceptional expertise and knowledge he has gathered over the years from various industries and professions. He is currently the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Telecommunications Chamber. Prior to his appointment, he was Managing Director of Graphic Communications Group Ltd. Before then he was the Chief Operating Officer for Multi TV, General Manager of JoyFm as well as the Chief Technology Officer of the group at different times. In between his time at Multimedia, he was also Managing Director of Optimum Media Prime, a media independent and marketing company. He left Fanel Ltd, a building services engineering company as a Senior Projects Engineer. He holds a Doctorate degree in Business Administration at the Swiss Management Centre. He also has an MBA from the Leicester University (UK) and a BSc in Electrical/Electronic Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. He had his secondary education at St. Augustine’s College. Aside being a member of the Ghana Blood Foundation, he is the convener of the Media Coalition Against Galamsey, an advocate of Media Freedom and campaigner against attacks on journalists and media workers in Ghana.

FRANK AGYARE, ESQ.

Frank is an Associate at Oak and Wuuds Law Firm in Accra. Frank is a Lawyer and a Chartered Accountant, holds a Master of Business Administration in Banking and Finance. Frank also holds a Post-First Degree Bachelor of Law degree from Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), Master of Business Administration in Banking and Finance from Paris Graduate School of Management – France and a Bachelor of Commerce (B. Com) degree in Accounting & Finance from University of Cape Coast, Higher National Diploma from Kumasi Technical University, Ghana and an Associate member of the Association of Certified Chartered Economists (ACCE), Associate Member of the American Academy of Financial Management - Financial Management & Economics. Frank is an international development finance and operations expert with 15 years experience, 5 years in a regional role in Africa, providing oversight of finance and operations functions in West and East Africa. Frank has held highest level of decision-making authority for OIC International in Ghana and the African Region, being the country Representative and Regional Director for Africa responsible for setting strategic direction, ensuring project quality, efficient operational procedures and systems and responsibility for OIC International’s Africa Regional programs. Frank’s interest is in the area of corporate and commercial practice, Charities and Foundations, Banking Law, Debt Recovery Services, Real Estate, insolvency, liquidation and Corporate rescue, Investment Companies, Funds and Trusts and Estates, contracts and corporate Law. Frank is a member of Ghana Association of Restructuring and Insolvency Advisors (GARIA), a member of the Ghana Bar Association, (GBA), a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA, UK), a member of the Global Chartered Management Accountants, (GCMA, UK), Associate member of the Association of Certified Chartered Economists (ACCE), Associate Member of the American Academy of Financial Management - Financial Management & Economics. Frank joined Oak and Wuuds Law Firm in 2018, and has advised various banks and asset management companies including Databank Asset Management Service ltd, Progress Savings and Loans Ltd, National Investment Bank (NIB), Apex Capital Partners, in respect of corporate transactions, debt recovery, property legal due diligence, collateral registration, vetting of the property documents backing loan transactions, acquisition and disposal of properties, property searches and discoveries, and investigations.

PROF. KWASI AMPONSAH-TAWIAH

Prof. Kwasi Amponsah-Tawiah is a Senior lecturer and the Coordinator of the Internship and Placement program at the University of Ghana Business School. He holds a PHD in Applied Psychology from the Nottingham University and a Master’s degree in Industrial Psychology from the University of Ghana. He is a United Kingdom trained Psychologist and a Human Resource expert. He has conducted various research projects and training programs for many Ghanaian financial institutions. He currently serves on many Committees and Boards such as the National Steering Committee on Employee Health and Wellbeing, University of Ghana Academic Board and the University of Ghana Business Studies Board. He is also a Professional Member of the Ghana Society of Occupational and Environmental Health. Prof. Amponsah-Tawiah has published many books, projects, and conference papers. He brings to Progress his rich knowledge and expertise in organizational development, and he has the ability to bring about transformation in challenging environments.
